Hammerfest V!

So, last month, I went to my first Hammerfest festival up in North Wales at the Hafan y Môr Holiday Park. I went up there with the Eyesore Merch team to review the event and to carry out some interviews, and they’re all finally up!

Interview with Matt Pike and High On Fire live review!

I don’t know how I forgot to put it up on here because it’s by far one of my favourite moments since doing this reviewing stuff. So I was lucky enough to have a chat with the legendary Sleep guitarist and High On Fire frontman Matt Pike before their gig in Bristol, you can check out what he had to say here, and the review of the gig here.

Carnage At Christmas Live Review (The Parrot, Carmarthen. 13/12/12)

First off, there’s a confession to make: local gigs never really whip up any interest in me; at least not in comparison to the excitement of seeing international bands touring the UK. However, this event organised by Before The End Promotions reimbursed any faith I had lost in the local scene and rock/metal gigs in the Carmarthenshire area over the past few years. Neurosis / Godflesh Live Review (HMV Forum, London. 2/12/12)

All Tomorrow’s Party, or simply ATP, always organise great events and nearing the end of 2012, the organisation isn’t putting their foot on the brake just yet. Leading up to the infamous Cumber Sands event (which will begin a day after the writing of this), ATP managed to combine two monumental bands in a co-headline gig: Neurosis and Godflesh. My “Damnation Festival 2012″ Experience

Sorry to disappoint, but you won’t find the review of Damnation 2012 here… but you will find it over on Eyesore Merch‘s far nicer blog by simply clicking HERE. Have a look, comment your thoughts/highlights and share it!

Anyway, it was my first Damnation Festival and was a great experience, I can definitely see myself going again.

A Night Of Salvation III Live Review (Santiago Bar, Leeds. 2/11/12)

It’s the night before Damnation Festival 2012 takes place at the Leeds Union and walking through town alone, you notice a good number of people wearing extreme metal t-shirts, and it seems that they all end up at one place on the night: the Santiago Bar. Continue reading

Decapitated Live Review (Bogiez, Cardiff. 10/10/12)

Decapitated, a band known for their truly brutal technical death metal, started their UK and Ireland tour last night at the Bogiez bar, with support from Bloodshot Dawn and Xerath – and what a gig it was! Continue reading

My “READING FESTIVAL 2012” Experience

To start off, this was my first time at Reading Festival and probably a festival I personally didn’t think I’d ever be going to. That said, I was swayed by the line-up early this year and snatched a ticket as soon as I saw the line-up on the Mainstage and the Lock-Up stage. So, without further ado, this is my review of who I managed to see at the festival… Continue reading

My “I’LL BE YOUR MIRROR 2012” (London) experience.

What can I say about a Friday and Saturday at I’ll Be Your Mirror? I saw Slayer play Reign In Blood in its entirety, saw Sleep play (never thought I would), met Steve Brooks of Torche/Floor and had a great time sightseeing. Continue reading
